Regular Season Round 7: Olympiacos - Dafni Agioy 100-58

An interesting game for Olympiacos (7-0) which hosted in Pireus 4th placed Dafni Agioy (4-3). Leader Olympiacos had an easy win 100-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dafni Agioy. The game without a history. Olympiacos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Dafni Agioy's 28. Olympiacos forced 24 Dafni Agioy turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Dafni Agioy's players. Dafni Agioy was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Styliani Kaltsidou (188-83, agency: ProDep Management) helped adding 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Olympiacos' coach Eleni Kapogianni felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Blake Dietrick (178-93, college: Princeton, agency: LBM Management) responded with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the other American import center Cassie Rochel (193-91, college: Wisconsin) scored 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Olympiacos. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record, which they share with Panionios. Dafni Agioy at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Athinaikos and PAOK. Olympiacos will play against league's second-placed Panionios in Athens in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dafni Agioy will play at home against Olympiacos Volou and hopes to get back on the winning track.
