Regular Season Round 15: Shimane SM - Hokkaido L. 84-88

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Shimane Magic (5-14) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Hokkaido L. (10-9) 88-84 on Saturday. Hokkaido L. made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game, while Shimane Magic only scored four points from the stripe. Hokkaido L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Shimane Magic was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) helped adding 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import Tyler Stone (203-91, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Diamond Sports) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hokkaido L. moved-up to second place, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Newly promoted Shimane Magic keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face Diamond Dolphins (#5) in Nagoya in the next round. Shimane Magic will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. and hope to win that game.
