Regular Season Round 18: Los Leones - Osorno 97-96

Sixth-ranked Osorno Basquetbol (3-13) made lots of trouble for first ranked Los Leones (12-5) in Quilpue on Saturday. Los Leones managed to secure only one-point victory 97-96. However their fans expected much easier game. Los Leones outrebounded Osorno Basquetbol 56-45 including 22 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Argentinian forward Lisandro Rasio (198-90, agency: Pro Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 24 rebounds. American forward John-A Thomas (198-82, college: Columbus St.) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Los Leones players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 56 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Landon Atterberry (198-93, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Aspire Sports) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Osorno Basquetbol's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Los Leones have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-5 record. Osorno Basquetbol lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Los Leones are looking forward to face league's leader Las Animas in Valdivia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Osorno Basquetbol will play on the road against Universidad Catolica (#4) in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
