Regular Season Round 15: Nagoya DD - Kyoto Hannar. 105-97

There was a minor upset in Nagoya where 3rd placed Kyoto Hannar. (10-9) was defeated by third ranked Diamond Dolphins (7-12) 105-97 on Saturday. Diamond Dolphins shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Shuto Ando (189-94) helped adding 24 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Despite that victory Diamond Dolphins went down to fifth position due to points difference. Kyoto Hannar. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second place with nine games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round. Kyoto Hannar. will play at home against Shimane Magic and hope to win that game.
