No shocking result in a game when second ranked Leganes (7-3) crushed at home 14th ranked Promete (1-9) 84-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Leganes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Promete's 26. Leganes forced 23 Promete turnovers. It was a very good performance for forward Paula Justel (186-92) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Marta Perez (177-94) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Leganes' coach Nacho Garcia felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Maria-Ylenia Manzanares (175-83) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Sune Swart (190-95, college: Bucknell) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Promete. Leganes maintains second position in Group B with 7-3 record having just three points less than leader Gran Canaria, which they share with Adelantados. Promete lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with nine games lost. Leganes will face Adareva (#12) in Laguna in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Promete will play on the road against Real Canoe in Madrid and hope to win that game.
