Rather expected game when 13th ranked Almeria (2-8) lost at home to eleventh ranked CVCD Granada (4-6) 63-59 on Saturday. Almeria was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 10-point lead after three quarters before a 17-3 charge of CVCD Granada, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Almeria to just 3 points in fourth quarter. CVCD Granada made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for Bosnian center Aleksandra Begenisic (193-89, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Laura Arrojo contributed with 7 points for the winners. Concepcion Sanchez replied with 25 points and power forward Alicia Gonzalez (187-86) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Almeria. CVCD Granada moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with Distrito Olimpico. Almeria lost fourth consecutive game. Almeria at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. CVCD Granada will face league's leader Gran Canaria in Las Palmas in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Almeria will play on the road against Picken Claret (#7) in Valencia and hope to win that game.
