Regular Season Round 11: Shanghai S. - Guangsha L. 95-119

The game in Shanghai supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (8-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Sharks (6-5). Zhejiang Guangsha Lions smashed Sharks 119-95 on Saturday. They outrebounded Sharks 44-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Greek center Ioannis Bourousis (214-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: 3Eye) helped adding 20 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) responded with 28 points and 5 assists and the other American import Nick Minnerath (207-88, college: Detroit Mercy) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions maintains fourth place with 8-3 record, which they share with Guangdong ST. Loser Sharks dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will meet at home higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sharks will play against Golden Bulls (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
