Regular Season Round 11: Monaco - Chalon 87-57
Date: December 2, 2017
Very predictable result when second ranked Monaco (8-3) smashed at home bottom-ranked Chalon/Saor (2-9) 87-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Monaco led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Chalon/Saor's 30. Monaco forced 21 Chalon/Saor turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Chalon/Saor's players. It was a great evening for American point guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 assists. Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 16 points. The former international Mickael Gelabale (202-83, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and American forward James Farr (208-92, college: Xavier) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Monaco used an opportunity after Le Mans lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Defending champion Chalon/Saor stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Monaco will face JDA Dijon (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chalon/Saor will play against Olympique Antibes (#11) and hope to win that game.
