No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Iskra Svit (9-5) smashed on the road 9th ranked Handlova (4-11) 108-81. Iskra Svit dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Handlova's 42. They outrebounded Handlova 39-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. Handlova was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international forward Pavol Losonsky (203-88, college: Cal-Irvine) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Marcus Tyus (185-94, college: Omaha) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Swiss point guard Jeremy Landenbergue (189-93, college: Cuesta JC) added 11 points and 8 assists in the effort for Handlova. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Handlova's coach Krunoslav Krajnovic gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Iskra Svit. They maintain fourth place with 9-5 record. Handlova lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Karlovka and Zilina. Iskra Svit will play against Zilina (#8) on the road in the next round. Handlova will play against Rieker KN and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
