The most surprising game was the first loss of Real Celta Vigo (9-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Cortegada (7-3) 82-66. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Real Celta Vigo. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-66. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sara Gomez (172-86, agency: ProDep Management) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. Senegalese center Amy Syll (196-93, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Cortegada players scored in double figures. Cortegada's coach Ruben Dominguez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Anne Senosiain (162-97) replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Mali center Minata Keita (190-89) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks in the effort for Real Celta Vigo. Cortegada have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Barca CBS. Real Celta Vigo at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Cortegada is looking forward to face Maquinaria Ensino (#7) in Lugo in the next round. Real Celta Vigo will play on the road against Ascensores Tresa (#11) in Gijon and is hoping to win this game.
