Regular Season Round 7: Panathinaikos - Athinaikos 50-79

Date: December 2, 2017
Bottom-ranked Panathinaikos is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to sixth ranked Athinaikos (4-3) 79-50. The game was mostly controlled by Athinaikos. Panathinaikos was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Panathinaikos 49-21 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Jamee Swan (188-94, college: Colorado, agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Her fellow American import forward Hannah Little (185-94, college: Oakland) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds. Four Athinaikos players scored in double figures. Cypriot point guard Vicky Kasdagli (164-98) produced 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Katerina Tsineke (178-99) added 16 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Athinaikos. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with PAOK and Dafni Agioy. Panathinaikos lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Athinaikos' next round opponent will be Niki Lefkadas (#7) at home. Panathinaikos will play against Proteas (#9) in Voula and hopes to get finally their first victory.
