Regular Season Round 11: Huima - Catz 51-87

SM-sarja top team - Catz Lappeenranta (10-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Aanekosken (1-10) in Aanekoski 87-51. The game without a history. Catz Lappeenranta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aanekosken to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Catz Lappeenranta dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Aanekosken's 30. U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Aleighsa Welch (183-93, college: S.Carolina) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Jazmine Perkins (178-89, college: Washington St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Tyler Gilbert (185-94, college: Houston) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Aanekosken. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Catz Lappeenranta have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Aanekosken lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Catz Lappeenranta are looking forward to face Espoo Team (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Aanekosken will play against ViVe in Vimpeli and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
