Regular Season Round 9: Loon Lions - CTO 73-61

Bottom-ranked CTO (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 73-61 loss to fifth ranked Loon Lions (5-4) in Landsmeer. Loon Lions outrebounded CTO 40-21 including a 30-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for international center Charlotte van-Kleef (190-96) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Lindsay Pengel (172-99) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Zoe Slagter (185-0) answered with 7 points and Ferial Vissers (176-0) added 5 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for CTO. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Loon Lions moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Grasshoppers and Binnenland. Newly promoted CTO still closes the standings with nine games lost. Loon Lions will play against higher ranked Royal Eagles (#3) in Apeldoorn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CTO will play on the road against Amazone (#7) in Utrecht and hopes to get finally their first victory.
