Regular Season Round 8: Kastoria - Arkadikos 87-66

Very expected game when 14th ranked Arkadikos (1-7) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Kastoria (5-3) 87-66. The game was mostly controlled by Kastoria. Arkadikos was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kastoria had a 31-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Forward Danis Eleftheriadis (197-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Giannis Kyriakopoulos (185-83) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Center Savvas Tsougarakis (207-86) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Swedish guard Jordan Peltier (193-95) added 4 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Arkadikos. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kastoria have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Arkadikos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with seven games lost. Kastoria's next round opponent will be Ermis Agias (#8). Arkadikos will play against Amyntas Dafnis (#6) and hope to win that game.
