Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Novipiu Casale (10-0) beat on the road 13th ranked NPC Rieti (3-7) 71-64 on Sunday. Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-90, college: De Paul) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Novipiu Casale players scored in double figures. Novipiu Casale's coach Marco Ramondino allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American-Nigerian Jamal Olasewere (201-91, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: HMS) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and American-Nigerian guard Zaid Hearst (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) scored 15 points. Novipiu Casale maintains first position in A2 with 10-0 record. Loser NPC Rieti dropped to the fourteenth place with seven games lost.
