Regular Season Round 15: Tochigi Brex - San-en 65-71

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked San-en NeoPhoenix's (8-11) road victory over 6th ranked Tochigi Brex (8-11) 71-65 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when San-en NeoPhoenix made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Shuto Tawatari (185-90) helped adding 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-85) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San-en NeoPhoenix moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Tochigi Brex. San-en NeoPhoenix will face league's second-placed Toyama Grouses at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tochigi Brex will play against Yokohama BC and hope to win that game.
