The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Blancos de Rueda's (7-5) road loss to fourth ranked Melilla Baloncesto (9-3) 62-79. The game without a history. Melilla Baloncesto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Melilla Baloncesto dominated on the defensive end, holding Blancos de Rueda to just 2 points in fourth quarter. Melilla Baloncesto players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The best player for the winners was center Fran Guerra (214-92) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Canadian-Bosnian guard Diego Kapelan (190-87, college: McNeese St.) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Dutch center Jito Kok (206-94, college: San Diego, agency: Court Side) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and center Sergio De-La-Fuente (198-89) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Melilla Baloncesto moved-up to third place, which they share with Manresa. Newly promoted Blancos de Rueda keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Melilla Baloncesto's next round opponent will be league's second-placed CB Prat on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Blancos de Rueda will play against Castello and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
