Regular Season Round 15: Yokohama BC - Ryukyu GK 55-74

Very expected game when 6th ranked Yokohama BC (4-15) was crushed at home by first ranked Ryukyu GK (14-5) 74-55 on Sunday. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Masashi Hosoya (173-89) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Ryukyu GK have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-5 record, which they share with Chiba Jets. Yokohama BC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Shiga L-Stars (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
