Regular Season Round 14: Yamanashi QB - Niigata R. 69-65 OT

Bottom-ranked Niigata R. (0-14) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 14th consecutive match to eleventh ranked Yamanashi QB (2-12) 69-65 on Sunday evening. Niigata R. was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 14-13 charge of Yamanashi QB, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 9-5. Yamanashi QB dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata R.'s 26. Yamanashi QB forced 20 Niigata R. turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Uchibori Murasaki (165-94) who scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Misa Yokoi (170-88) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Manaka Watanabe (177-95) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and forward Naomi Kitagawa (173-94) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Yamanashi QB moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Haneda Vickies. Loser Niigata R. still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Yamanashi QB will meet Haneda Vickies (#10) in the next round. Niigata R. will play against Hitachi Cougars and hopes to get finally their first victory.
