Regular Season Round 10: Zaragoza - FC Barcelona 86-99

No shocking result in a game when third ranked FC Barcelona (8-2) beat on the road 11th ranked Zaragoza (4-6) 99-86 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by FC Barcelona. Zaragoza was better in fourth quarter 30-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FC Barcelona looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for the former international Juan-Carlos Navarro (192-80) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 assists. French center Kevin Seraphin (208-89) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. American guard Gary Neal (193-84, college: Towson) replied with 23 points (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) and his fellow American import center Jarvis Varnado (206-88, college: Mississippi St.) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Zaragoza. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. FC Barcelona have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Valencia. Loser Zaragoza keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. FC Barcelona will face CB Canarias (#9) in Tenerife in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zaragoza will play at home against Unicaja Malaga and hope to win that game.
