Regular Season Round 15: SeaHorses - Toyota Alvark 77-69

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Toyota Alvark (15-4) in Kariya on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Aishin Sea Horses (17-2) 77-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toyota Alvark. Aishin Sea Horses dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota Alvark's 34. They outrebounded Toyota Alvark 41-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) helped adding 26 points. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) with 14 points and 8 assists and international Yudai Baba (193-95) scored 16 points. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Toyota Alvark's coach Luka Pavicevic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first place with 17-2 record which they share with defeated Toyota Alvark. Toyota Alvark at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Aishin Sea Horses are looking forward to face Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa in the next round. Toyota Alvark will play at home against Osaka Evessa and is hoping to win this game.
