Regular Season Round 10: Rioja - Lima-Horta 70-61

There was an upset when higher ranked Lima-Horta (6-4) lost to eleventh ranked Rioja (4-6) in Azkoitia 61-70 on Sunday. Lima-Horta was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a very good performance for American center Erika Livermore (185-93, college: Fair Dickinson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard Brenae Harris (178-92, college: Toledo) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Andrea Garcia replied with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Elena Silva (173-92) added 8 points and 9 assists in the effort for Lima-Horta. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rioja moved-up to tenth place in Group A, which they share with Ascensores Tresa. Loser Lima-Horta keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Rioja will face higher ranked GDKO Bizkaia (#5) in Galdakao in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lima-Horta's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Barcelona to the arena Joventut LC.
