Very important is a home loss of third ranked La ICL Manresa (9-3) against sixteenth ranked Leyma Basquet (4-7) on Sunday night. Host La ICL Manresa was defeated by Leyma Basquet in a tough game in Manresa 75-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of La ICL Manresa. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. La ICL Manresa was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Trevor Cooney (193-92, college: Syracuse) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and point guard Jorge Sanz (188-93) who added 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Jordi Trias (208-80) with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Lluis Costa (187-93) scored 13 points and 6 assists. Five Leyma Basquet and four La ICL Manresa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leyma Basquet moved-up to fifteenth place. La ICL Manresa at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Melilla. Leyma Basquet will play against higher ranked Barca II (#14) in Barcelona in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. La ICL Manresa will play on the road against Oviedo CB (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
