Regular Season Round 10: Agrigento - Virtus Roma 101-72

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Virtus Roma (2-8) was outplayed on the road by fifth ranked Agrigento (6-4) 101-72 on Sunday. Agrigento shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Ruben Zugno (186-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Lorenzo Ambrosin (190-97, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Agrigento players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Aaron Thomas (196-91, college: Florida St.) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Agrigento maintains fifth position in A2 with 6-4 record. Loser Virtus Roma dropped to the sixteenth place with eight games lost. Agrigento will face Lighthouse TRP (#6) in Trapani in the next round. Virtus Roma will play at home against Remer Treviglio (#12) and hope to win that game.
