Regular Season Round 11: Basket Gdynia - TS Ostrovia 69-62

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Basket Gdynia (7-4) won against at home 9th ranked TS Ostrovia (3-7) 69-62. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-4. But TS Ostrovia won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Basket Gdynia dominated on the defensive end, holding TS Ostrovia to just 4 points in first quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for Latvian center Kristine Vitola (193-91, college: UTEP) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Basket Gdynia maintains fourth place with 7-4 record. TS Ostrovia lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. Basket Gdynia will play against CCC Polkowice (#5) on the road in the next round. TS Ostrovia will play against Enea AZS P. (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
