Regular Season Round 12: Snaefell - Fjolnir 100-85

Very expected game in Stykkisholmur where 6th ranked Fjolnir (5-6) was defeated by second ranked Snaefell (8-3) 100-85. Snaefell players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Fjolnir's players. The winners were led by American guard Christian Covile (193-93, college: Adrian) who scored that evening 27 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and point guard Viktor Alexandersson (180-97) supported him with 22 points and 5 assists. Even 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds by American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: SDJ Sports) did not help to save the game for Fjolnir. Forward Sigvaldi Eggertsson (197-0) added 31 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Snaefell have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-3 record behind leader Skallagrimur, which they share with Breidablik. Fjolnir at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Snaefell will play against Hamar (#5) on the road in the next round. Fjolnir will play against Breidablik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
