Regular Season Round 8: Maccabi Raanana - Ramat Hasharon 58-63

Date: December 4, 2017
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Maccabi Raanana (5-3) against seventh ranked Ramat Hasharon (4-4) on Monday night. Host Maccabi Raanana was defeated by Ramat Hasharon in a tough game at home 58-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Raanana. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by forward Shae Kelley (185-91, college: Minnesota) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) supported her with 13 points and 17 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by power forward Karisma Penn (188-91, college: Illinois) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Raanana. Forward Ariel Edwards (190-92, college: Penn St., agency: ProDep Management) added 12 points and 14 rebounds for the hosts. Four Maccabi Raanana players scored in double figures. Ramat Hasharon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bnot Hertzeliya. Maccabi Raanana at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Maccabi R.Hen and Elitzur Ramla. Ramat Hasharon will play against higher ranked Maccabi Ramat Gan (#4) in Ramat Hen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi Raanana will play on the road against the league's leader Elitzur Holon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
