The most shocking disappointment of round 4 in the D1 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Al Ahli (1-2) by sixth ranked Qatar Sports Club (2-1) who outscored them by 32 points 108-76. Qatar Sports Club outrebounded Al Ahli 46-30 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brandan Kearney (198-92, college: Detroit Mercy) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and the other American import guard Baden Jaxen (190-90, college: N.Carolina) who added 30 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side Serbian-FYR Macedonian forward Nenad Zivcevic (203-87, agency: Mansfield and Associates) responded with 25 points and 4 assists and Ndoye Seydou-Elhadj produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Al Ahli players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Qatar Sports Club moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Wakrah. Al Ahli at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Qatar Sports Club is looking forward to face Al Wakrah (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Al Ahli's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Gharafa.
