Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Doha: Al Gharafa (#2) and Al Sadd (#3). Al Gharafa (3-0) smashed visiting Al Sadd (2-2) by 17 points 83-66. Al Gharafa dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Al Sadd's 28. They outrebounded Al Sadd 45-21 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American point guard James Justice (178-89, college: Martin Methodist) who scored that evening 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) supported him with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Even a double-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists by American-Albanian forward Mike Moser (203-90, college: Oregon) did not help to save the game for Al Sadd. American guard Dee Oldham (193-94, college: Chattanooga) added 21 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Al Gharafa have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record behind leader Al Arabi. Al Sadd at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Al Gharafa's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Ahli.
