Regular Season Round 12: RAC Basket - Souffel 85-69

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Souffelweyersheim (5-7) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Rueil (7-5) 85-69 on Tuesday. Rueil looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Senegalese Maleye NDoye (202-80, college: Furman) who scored 15 points and 4 assists. Center Jeremie Douillet (205-91) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Rueil's coach Julien Hervy used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Valentin Correia (192-93) added 23 points respectively. Rueil moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Challans and La Charite. Loser Souffelweyersheim keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Rueil will face La Charite (#6) on the road in the next round. Souffelweyersheim will play against the league's leader Saint Vallier and hope to win that game.
