Regular Season Round 13: Hidd - Al-Bahrain 66-95
Date: December 6, 2017
Rather expected game when 12th ranked Hidd (1-11) was smashed at home by tenth ranked Al-Bahrain (4-8) 95-66. Al-Bahrain outrebounded Hidd 53-30 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Merrill Holden (203-93, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners and Jalal Akbar chipped in 24 points. At the losing side Hussain Lulu responded with 25 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and Nooraldeen Mohamed produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Al-Bahrain moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Sitra. Newly promoted Hidd keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost.
