Regular Season Round 12: Lecco - Volpino 89-65

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Volpino (1-11) was outleveled on the road by third ranked Lecco (9-3) 89-65 on Wednesday. Lecco outrebounded Volpino 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for center Ivan Morgillo (206-92, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Gaetano Spera (210-93, college: St.Peter's, agency: Players Group) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Francesco Gorreri (192-95) replied with 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Manuel Di-Meco (200-97, agency: Octagon Europe) added 10 points in the effort for Volpino. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lecco maintains third position in B with 9-3 record having just three points less than leader San Severo, which they share with Crema. Volpino lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth place with 11 games lost. Lecco will face Desio (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Volpino will play against Vicenza (#5) and hope to win that game.
