No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Golden Bulls (8-4) beat 12th ranked Sharks (6-6) in Shanghai 102-97 on Wednesday. Golden Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 44. It was a good game for American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists. International guard Qian Wu (190-94) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) replied with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and his fellow American import Nick Minnerath (207-88, college: Detroit Mercy) added 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Sharks. Sharks' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Golden Bulls moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Shenzhen L. Sharks lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with six games lost. Golden Bulls will face Jilin Tigers (#16) in Changchun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sharks will play on the road against Jiangsu Dragons (#4) in Nanjing and hope to win that game.
