Regular Season Round 12: Ortona - Cerignola Udas 79-83

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Cerignola Udas and 15th ranked Ortona had identical 3-8 record. But Ortona was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Cerignola 83-79 on Wednesday night. It was a good game for point guard Simone Colonnelli (185-91) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 4 assists. Oleksandr Kushchev (201-90) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Gianluca Marchetti (178-93) replied with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Serbian power forward Danilo Petrovic (203-99) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ortona. Ortona's coach Benedetto Salomone rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cerignola Udas (4-8) moved-up to twelfth place in B, which they share with Rimini and Lugo. Loser Ortona dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Cerignola Udas will face Fabriano (#14) at home in the next round. Ortona will play against Campli where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
