Regular Season Round 10: Visby - Alvik Basket 62-63

The most exciting game of round 10 in the Damligan took place in Visby. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Visby Ladies (5-5) to third ranked Alvik Basket (7-2) 63-62 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Visby Ladies. Forward Paula Juhlin (184-91) had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Martina Stalvant (176-89, agency: Two Points) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists during the contest. Alvik Basket's coach Jurgita Kausaite used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Canadian forward Rashida Timbilla (186-92, college: Massachusetts) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and Slovakian center Regina Palusna (192-89) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Visby Ladies players scored in double figures. Alvik Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-2 record having just three points less than leader Lulea Basket. Visby Ladies at the other side keep the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Telge and IK Eos. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
