Important game to mention about took place in Salvador. Thirteenth ranked Universo/Vitoria (2-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 14th ranked Vasco Da G. (1-5) 77-75 on Thursday evening. It was a very good performance for American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import point guard Nick Okorie (185-88, college: Texas Tech) contributed with 18 points for the winners. American David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international guard Guilherme Pereira (190-91) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Vasco Da G.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Universo/Vitoria moved-up to ninth place, which they share with B.Cearense. Vasco Da G. lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with five games lost. Universo/Vitoria will face higher ranked Paulistano (#8) in Sao Paulo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
