There was no surprise in Urumqi where 17th ranked Eagles (3-10) were outplayed by eighth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (8-5) 133-113 on Thursday. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 13 assists for the winners and the former international forward Makan Kelanbaike (197-92) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) responded with 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and the former international center Wei Su (212-89) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Eagles' coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Beijing D. and Shenzhen L. Loser Eagles dropped to the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Gold Lions (#16) in Tianjin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eagles will play at home against Bayi Rockets and hope to win that game.
