Regular Season Round 11: HBA-Marsky - Korikouvot 72-78

Top ranked HBA-Marsky (10-3) recorded its third loss in Helsinki on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Korikouvot (6-4) 78-72. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 32-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Korikouvot looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Vili Nyman (198-98) who scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Teemu Knihtinen (195-98) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Mikael Jantunen (203-0) produced 26 points and 9 rebounds and guard Miika Heinonen (191-99) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. HBA-Marsky's coach Antti Koskelainen rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Korikouvot moved-up to fifth place in Division. HBA-Marsky at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Korikouvot are looking forward to face higher ranked ToPo (#4) in Helsinki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. HBA-Marsky will play on the road against Lahti and is hoping to win this game.
