Regular Season Round 9: B.Yehuda - Maccabi Ashdod 74-66

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Maccabi Ashdod (6-3) against ninth ranked B.Yehuda (2-7) on Thursday night. Visiting Maccabi Ashdod was defeated by B.Yehuda in a tough game in Tel Aviv 66-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Ashdod. It was a good game for international Lev Tal (179-97) who led her team to a victory with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Sequoia Holmes (183-86, college: UNLV) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four B.Yehuda players scored in double figures. American power forward Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import swingman Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: Connecticut) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Newly promoted B.Yehuda maintains ninth place with 2-7 record. Defending champion Maccabi Ashdod keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Elitzur Ramla. B.Yehuda will play against higher ranked Ramat Hasharon (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Bnot Hertzeliya and hopes to get back on the winning track.
