Regular Season Round 9: Parnu - Valga 83-66

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Valga (6-2) against sixth ranked Parnu (4-5) on Friday night. Visiting Valga was defeated by Parnu in Parnu 83-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Valga. The game was mostly controlled by Parnu. Valga was better in second period 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Parnu players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Valga's players. Forward Mihkel Kirves (190-96) stepped up and scored 8 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and point guard Siim-Markus Post (183-97) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Parnu's coach Heiko Rannula allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was guard Kristaps Miglinieks (196-90) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Edgars Lasenbergs (189-95) scored 18 points. Parnu moved-up to fifth place. Valga at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Parnu will play against TLU/Kalev (#6) in Tallinn in the next round. Valga will play at home against Rapla (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
