Regular Season Round 9: Wildcats - 36ers 88-79

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Perth Wildcats as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Perth Wildcats defeated 5th ranked Adelaide 36ers at home 88-79. Perth Wildcats made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Adelaide 36ers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Cameroonian-American forward JP Tokoto (198-93, college: N.Carolina) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and the former international forward Lucas Walker (202-84, college: St.Mary's, CA) accounted for 12 points and 16 rebounds. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (210-88, college: Pepperdine) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Adelaide 36ers in the defeat. Five Perth Wildcats and four Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perth Wildcats (10-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Adelaide 36ers at the other side dropped to the third place with six games lost. They share the position with United. Adelaide 36ers will play next round against strong New Zealand Breakers trying to get back on the winning streak. Perth Wildcats will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Bullets at Brisbane.
