Regular Season Round 13: Hamar - Snaefell 105-99

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Snaefell (8-4) against fifth ranked Hamar (8-3) on Friday night. Visiting Snaefell was defeated by Hamar in a tough game in Hamar 99-105. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Snaefell. Hamar dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Snaefell's 48. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Snaefell's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Julian Nelson (196, college: Coker) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Jon Sverrisson (187-98) contributed with 11 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Christian Covile (193-93, college: Adrian) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and point guard Viktor Alexandersson (180-97) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Snaefell. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hamar have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Vestri. Snaefell at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Hamar will play against league's second-placed Breidablik in Kopavogur in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Snaefell will have a break next round.
