Date: December 8, 2017
CBA top team - Flying Leopards (11-2) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Sturgeons (6-7) in Jinjiang 123-102. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners and Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) chipped in 27 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Russ Smith (183-91, college: Louisville) scored 25 points and 7 assists. Four Flying Leopards and five Sturgeons players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flying Leopards have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-2 record. Sturgeons at the other side keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Shanghai S. and Beikong FD. Flying Leopards are looking forward to face Golden Bulls (#6) in Hangzhou in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sturgeons will play on the road against Leopards (#9) in Shenzhen and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
