Saint Chamond defeated Caen 74-64 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Saint Chamond. Caen managed to win second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by Jonathan Hoyaux (195-88) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Matthieu Guichard (188-88) supported him with 17 points and 5 assists. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by American power forward Jarvis Williams (198-93, college: Murray St., agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Caen. Center Bastien Vautier (210-98) added 10 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Saint Chamond moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Caen. Saint Chamond will meet Nantes (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Caen will play against ADA Blois (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
