Regular Season Round 13: Fjolnir - Breidablik 96-98 OT

The most exciting game of round 13 in the D1 took place in Reykjavik. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Fjolnir (5-7) to third ranked Breidablik (9-3) 98-96 on Friday evening. Breidablik made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. American guard Jeremy Smith (190, college: Nicholls St.) fired 41 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Ragnar Ragnarsson (188-97) chipped in 18 points. Forward Sigvaldi Eggertsson (197-0) produced 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: SDJ Sports) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Breidablik moved-up to second place. Fjolnir lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Breidablik are looking forward to face Hamar (#4) at home in the next round. Fjolnir will play against Vestri and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
