Very predictable result when third ranked Chorale de Roanne (7-1) won against 9th ranked Provence Basket (4-4) in Fos-sur-Mer 76-71 on Friday. Provence Basket trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 19-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-76 at the end of the game. American-Kenyan forward Robert Nyakundi (203-89, college: SMU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Chorale de Roanne's coach Laurent Pluvy used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Pierre Pelos (205-92) replied with 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Provence Basket. Chorale de Roanne moved-up to second place, which they share with Lille. Loser Provence Basket keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Chorale de Roanne will face Poitiers (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Provence Basket will play against JA Vichy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
