Regular Season Round 16: Grodno-93 - Tsmoki-Minsk 81-89

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Grodno-93 (14-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Tsmoki-Minsk (15-0) 89-81. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Grodno-93. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Tsmoki-Minsk made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Yauheni Beliankou (197-95) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and international forward Viktor Ovsepyan (203-91) who added 9 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Kiryl Sitnik (190-89) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Ukrainian forward Sergei Dadukin (198-83) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tsmoki-Minsk have an impressive 15-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Grodno-93 at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. Tsmoki-Minsk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Grodno-93 will play again at home against the league's leader Tsmoki-Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
