Regular Season Round 14: Beikong FD - Guangdong ST 103-100

A very interesting game took place in Beijing. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Guandong Tigers (10-4) to fourteenth ranked Fly Dragons (7-7) 103-100 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Guandong Tigers. Fly Dragons players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) supported him with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Fly Dragons players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 38 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 7 assists by Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) did not help to save the game for Guandong Tigers. The former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) added 21 points and 15 rebounds for the guests. Fly Dragons moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Guandong Tigers at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Fly Dragons' next round opponent will be Blue Whales (#19) in Sichuan and are hoping to win another game. Guandong Tigers will play on the road against Beijing Ducks (#8) and hope to win that game.
