Regular Season Round 21: Gunma - Shinshu BW 92-101

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Gunma (9-10) against fifth ranked Shinshu BW (10-10) on Saturday night. Host Gunma was defeated by Shinshu BW in a tough game in Gunma 92-101. Shinshu BW made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Gunma turnovers. Strangely Gunma outrebounded Shinshu BW 52-34 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shinshu BW moved-up to third place. Loser Gunma dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gunma will play again against Shinshu BW (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
