Very expected game when 7th ranked Scrivia (6-5) lost on the road to second ranked Costa Masnaga (9-2) 82-66 on Saturday. Costa Masnaga outrebounded Scrivia 45-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Camille Mahlknecht (190-93, college: CS Northridge) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Valentina Baldelli (169-89) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Claudia Colli (176-96) answered with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Scrivia. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Costa Masnaga maintains second place in A2 with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Sesto SG. Loser Scrivia keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Costa Masnaga will face Udine Delser (#6) on the road in the next round. Scrivia will play against San Salvatore and hope to win that game.
